OPENING 2017

Innovative Renewable Lodging

Soon to rise in Tagaytay City is an abode whose concept greatly differs from the usual hotels. Simply put, the business model is based on the hotel’s deeply ingrained eco-principle to reduce, reuse, recycle, and renew.

Picking up from the success of its flagship property along Aguinaldo Highway, Eco Hotel is expanding in the same location but with a bit of a twist.  And so, the Eco Hotel Container is then conceived.

Containers had long been repurposed as a space for human activity. The evolution of container reuse extended further to lodgings after realizing its inherent strength, vast availability, and considerable low cost all supporting its eco-friendliness

Safe, Strong, and Secure

Containers are designed to be almost indestructible. They use Corten steel1 which is very thick, strong, and durable. By installing proper wall and ceiling insulation plus a concrete roof deck at the top floor, combined with passive cooling and excellent cross ventilation, with the option of air-conditioning, our container rooms will be very comfortable and cozy as any other luxurious hotel room.

Containers are designed to be stacked-up until seven levels high without the need for additional structural supports. Once locked together, these containers, seven stacks high, are very stable and are proven to withstand even stormy voyages at sea. With additional structural supports, which we are going to incorporate in the design of the project, this container hotel being only 3 stories high, will be very structurally sound and safe.

By installing proper wall and ceiling insulation plus a concrete roof deck at the top floor, combined with passive cooling and excellent cross ventilation, with the option of air-conditioning, our container rooms will be very comfortable and cozy as any other luxurious hotel room.

A number of eco-friendly features as solar panels, water recycling, energy saving lights and upcycled materials to name a few will be employed once in operation.  Additionally, the use of surplus containers repurposed to an eco chic and iconic hotel will add value and truth to the ‘green’ claim while inspiring other future hotel projects to incorporate eco-friendly values in design.

Each stay in Eco Hotel ‘Container’ will be an eye opener of the boundless impact a little effort can do in saving the environment. This will be seen in every room imbued with a call to action: reduce, reuse, recycle and renew.   Every bottle, ‘tanzan, foil pack, plastic utensils, cork and recyclable whatnot can be something else, something beautiful, something useful.
